The karnataka public service commision (KPSC) established in 1951 under the appliance of the Indian constitution. KPSC recruits the aspire candidate for the different steam in civil services across the state. The selection process is done through the karnataka public service commision. The examination have the three stages like UPSC .The first state is the preliminary test which is the screening purpose and the second stage is the mains and lastly one is the interview. In some of the examinations in the karnataka state service commision only have written test. Details are as follows:

The karnataka civil services rule 1977.
The karnataka recruitment of gazetted probationers rules, 1977.
The karnataka public works engineering department services rules 1973 and the karnataka recruitment of assistant engineers division I rules , 1979.
The karnataka education department service rules, 1967.
The karnataka state civil service rules, 1973.
The karnataka state civil services (recruitment to the ministerial post) rules, 1978.
Examination process :
The examination is held in a three stages :
Stage I :
Preliminary examination(objective type) for the selection of candidates to the the main examination. It is the screening test for the main examination.
Stage II :
Qualified preliminary exam candidates are eligible for the main examination. Main examination have some papers which choosen by the candidate. By this stage they decide who is going to eligible for the next stage.
Personal interview. It is the final round of the process of the test. If aspires done this round of test, they are the final selected candidates.

Animal husbandry and veterinary science and fisheries
Political science relations and international relations
Rural development and co operation
Personal interview : The candidates who will successfully crack the both preliminary and mains are eligible for the personal interview. The interview objectives to assess the candidate administration, analytical, as well as the understanding of the public service commission. The interview may be take as long they need.
